Transitions is the Colorado Children's Chorale's young alumni choir. Transitions is comprised of young high school alumni, as well as early voice changes, and gives Chorale graduates the opportunity to continue making music with their peers. Transitions also acts as a high-caliber group that eases our alums' entrance into high school choral programs.
Transitions sings a variety of music, including pop a capella. Under the direction of conductor Janay Bird* (pictured above), Transitions members rehearse once a week on Mondays at a Chorale rehearsal site. This 2022-23 season, Transitions members range from 14 to 18 years old, and represent 23 different schools across the Denver metro area.
This season's repertoire highlights include:
- "Sing Gently" by Eric Whitacre
- "Lovely Day" Bill Withers, arr. Robert T Gibson
Ms. Bird is excited for Transitions to perform the above pieces (and more) at the Chorale's Time to Shine concert on April 22, and Spring Fling Sing! concert on May 14.
*Ms. Bird is a proud alum of the Chorale.
