Legacy is the Colorado Children's Chorale's young alumni choir. Legacy is comprised of young high school alumni, as well as early voice changes, and gives Chorale graduates the opportunity to continue making music with their peers. Legacy sings a variety of music, including pop, jazz, and musical theatre! Under the direction of Chorale alumna Janay Bird, Legacy members rehearse once a week on Mondays. This 2024-25 season, Legacy members range from 14 to 18 years old, and represent 24 different schools across the Denver metro area. Legacy performs regularly at Boettcher Concert Hall and enjoys performing in the community at local schools and retirement centers. Ms. Bird is excited for Legacy to perform in Where Dreams Fly on April 26, 2025, and in the Spring Fling Sing! concert on May 11, 2025!

This year marks the Chorale's 51st season, and we have several wonderful opportunities ahead! We look forward to performing our self-produced concert, Where Dreams Fly, in April, and Carmina Burana with the Colorado Symphony and Chorus, also in April. We are excited to tour Malaysia and Singapore in June, where we will collaborate with Malaysian-Canadian composer, conductor, and music educator Dr. Tracy Wong, and work and perform with children’s choirs in Singapore and Malaysia.
Our Chorale members have the opportunity to perform for audiences of all kinds, from students at their schools to thousands of people at Boettcher Concert Hall. They also learn important skills like how to watch, follow, and listen to conductors, sing beautiful songs in different languages, and work closely together as a team. We want to create an environment of respect and empowerment, and through the Chorale, our members make lifelong friends who love music just as much as they do!
